The atx-i is a series created by a Tokina, and the "i" means interactive (two-way interaction between the photographer and the lens).The atx-i is a lens series that picks up a unique model from the AT-X series and revised the appearance and performance of DSLR lenses.

LENS CONSTRUCTION

To achieve an exceptional optical performance in still and video shooting purposes, two aspherical glass elements and two Super-Low Dispersion glass elements were used in order to minimize distortion.

Manage spherical aberration and astigmatism while achieving excellent edge-to edge resolution and contrast of the entire image. Great efforts were done to control light fall-off at all focal lengths.

Extremely high corner to corner resolving performance and almost zero distortion.

At nearest Focus

Beautiful bokeh with almost circular-shaped background highlights for portrait shooting thanks to classical extending barrel focusing system. Focus Range Limiter Switch

The front of the lens has a 55mm filter threads which extends during the focusing but does not rotate. This allows different filters including polarizers to be used for landscape or product photography.

A focus range limiter switch on the side of the lens locks the lens focus into or out of the macro focusing range to avoid excessive AF hunting.

Manual Aperture Ring

The direction of the manual focusing ring matches the proprietary direction of Nikon and Canon lenses. The Tokina atx-i 100mm F2.8 FF MACRO Nikon F mount is equipped with manual aperture ring based on Ai AF Nikkor D-Type* lens standard that allows to use this lens with wide variety of cameras including old Nikon film cameras.
